Tires can be expensive. However, it is not uncommon to find cheap used tires for trailers, cars, trucks, vans, and off road vehicles.
Some of the places where you can find used tires include the following: o Salvage Yards (a.k.a. Junk Yards): What is considered no good to one person may be ideal for you especially if you are on a budget. Cars are being discarded daily and often the tires are still in perfect working order even if the car no longer runs. Usually items purchased from a salvage yard are sold as is. o Online Automobile Parts Auctions: You may be able to find a good deal on used tires through an auction site such as eBay motors or similar. It is possible to even find new tires that are no longer being made for a cheaper price online. o Individual Owners: Sometimes owners of a car that no longer runs will sell a car for parts. Used tires may be one of those parts that you might be able to use. o Old-Fashioned Stores: The definition of old fashioned in this case means that you would shop at a physical store. Even though the Internet is becoming more of a popular medium of shopping people still occasionally go to “real” stores once in awhile. You can use location finders online to find stores in your area that sell tires. Some of the places that sell used tires also well offer services such as mounting, balancing, or rotation of tires. It is recommended that you have your tires balanced and/or rotated once in awhile so that the tread wear on each one will be fairly even. Mounting a tire is simply the act of putting a tire on the rim and then installing it on the wheel of your car. Different Types Of Tires Usually every car has a standard make of tire that is appropriate for that car. However, sometimes you can find mud tires or other types of utility tires that will make off road driving more fun. These are usually available for SUVs, 4x4s, ATVs, and a host of other off road vehicles. For automobiles, minivans, and cars usually the regular used tires are the best. You can find used tires with quite a bit of traction on them for a very cheap price that still have miles of grip on them for winter vehicle driving.
